This is about a ten day long ritual performed during the month of March. According to scriptures this festival is called Brahmotsava because Lord Brahma himself is supposed to be present and worship Lord Vishnu in different divine forms. There will be processions on different vahanas both in the morning and evening.
At Devagiri Sri Venkateshwara temple, this yearly ritual is performed in a grand scale, with daily homas, poojas, alankaras, ustavas on different vahanas – Gaja, Ashwa, Anjaneya, SuryamPrabha, Lion, ChandraPrabha, Hamsa, Sesha Vahana, Vairamudi etc.
Amidst chanting of Vedic hymns, the celestial cloth with the imprint of Lord `Garuda’ is hoisted atop the 60-feet-high `Dwajasthambham’ in the auspicious Meena Lagnam signalling the commencement of the ten-day annual Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara.
During Brahmotsava, Rathotsava draws a huge crowd of devotees, taking part during the procession in the main thoroughfares of the locality.
Starting with Gana Homa & hoisting the divine flag , the program concludes with lowering the divine flag with special function of Kalyanostava, Vasanthotsava, shyanostava in the evening.
Sevakarthas for morning and evening rituals book their sevas in advance and they participate in daily utsavas with divinity.
